Redeye is positively surprised by today’s news that Alelion and Exide Technologies have started a dialogue to explore the potential for long-term cooperation. We argue that a partnership could be a clear win-win opportunity for both companies. Exide, a market leader in lead-acid battery solutions, could get access to Alelion’s expertise in high-voltage lithium-ion battery solutions. Meanwhile, Alelion could get access to Exide’s large organization, market presence and sales division. It is still early days, but we argue these talks verify Alelion as a company and that the partnership could offer significant long-term potential.
