Acquisition provides Elanders with unique platform and UK footprint

Elanders announced this morning that it has acquired Kammac, a British contract logistics company. Kammac has averaged 20% sales growth over the last three years and operates at “very good profitability,” according to Elanders. Annual sales amount to more than GBP 90m. As Elanders currently has limited exposure to the UK, Kammac will provide a strong footprint, making the UK Elanders' fourth largest market. Kammac's platform also involves a rather unique logistics concept with high storage flexibility through its warehouses in the Northwestern part of England. For example, it offers temperature-controlled spaces and can handle medical and grocery products. Start-up times are short and Kammac maximises capacity utilisation with its unique intelligence, involving for example adjustments to seasonal variations in customers' demand. The exposure to customer segments such as food & beverage, retail, and medtech also fits well with Elanders current exposure, and should further decrease sensitivity to the overall business cycle. We look forward to seeing Elanders roll out this concept to existing customers and markets.
