Beowulf emphasizes that improved railway capacity is central to the efficient and low-carbon transport of ore from Kallak, which is located about 40 kilometers from the line. CEO Ed Bowie says the investment is "positive" and highlights Inlandsbanan as a potential main solution for transport to market.
The government has identified the line as a strategic corridor for investments linked to total defense and industrial logistics. Infrastructure Minister Andreas Carlson has indicated investments of about SEK 30 billion in critical infrastructure between 2026 and 2034, with a focus on railway upgrades, especially Inlandsbanan.
